Here's what you need to know:
Every track on The Record Stock is created and owned by The Record Stock, with no external collaborators, labels or third-party rights holders. We don't use uncleared samples or existing music that could create additional rights issues. That means when you purchase a track, you're licensing music directly from the people who own it — with no mystery rights holders hiding in the background.
Unfortunately, automated flagging systems aren't perfect, and from time to time a copyright claim may be made incorrectly. We can't guarantee that you'll never see an issue, but we can guarantee that we won't leave you to deal with it alone. We'll work with you to get it resolved as quickly as possible.
First of all, congratulations! Enjoy this moment, treat yourself to something nice and then plan how you're going to do it again. As far as we're concerned, nothing changes. There are no additional fees when your video reaches 10,000 views, 100,000 views, or 10 million views. You bought the track, so you can keep using it under the terms of your licence. The last thing we want is for you to have your viral moment and spend it worrying about music rights. Take a look at our License Agreement for more detail.
Yes! Once you've purchased a track, you can use it across as many projects as you like, for as long as you like, provided you're a primary contributor to the project and your use remains within the terms of our licence. Pay once. Use forever.
Yes. All TRS catalogue music is produced in-house specifically for The Record Stock and is not licensed from external music libraries. This allows us to maintain control over the catalogue and provide straightforward licensing directly to our customers.
No, not under the standard TRS licence. Our music is licensed for use within your visual and content projects, rather than for release as standalone music on Spotify, Apple Music or other streaming platforms. If you'd like something similar created specifically for a music release, please get in touch with our studio team and they can talk to you about exclusive beats.
Yes. You can use TRS music in projects you're creating for clients, provided your use remains within the terms of our licence. Your client doesn't need to purchase the track separately just because you're creating the project for them.
No, there's no requirement to credit us anywhere you use our music. That being said, we'd really appreciate it you wanted to shout us out anyway!
Because we're not trying to have millions of tracks. More choice isn't always better. We carefully curate a smaller catalogue so you can spend less time scrolling through thousands of tracks and more time finding something you actually love. Every TRS track is professionally produced and ready to use. We'd rather give you 200 great choices than 20,000 mediocre ones. And if you can't find what you're looking for, you can just ask for it directly using our Request Form.
We're constantly working on new music, including tracks inspired by creator requests. We don't add music just to make the catalogue bigger. Every new track needs to earn its place. Sign up to our newsletter to hear about new releases and exclusive offers, or request something directly here..
After checkout, you'll receive an email containing a download link for your WAV files. Didn't receive it? Need another format? Having trouble with your download? Contact our support team and we'll sort it out.
Due to the nature of digital downloads, we don't offer refunds or exchanges on our music. All sales are final, so make sure you double check what's in your basket! But we're not going to leave you stranded. If you've made a genuine mistake or run into a problem with your purchase, get in touch and we'll do our best to help - Contact@therecordstock.com
Don't worry! You can simply email our support team and they will issue you a new link! You bought it, it's yours!
An edit is a modification to an existing track specifically for you — for example, removing the piano from a track you love. Because that edited version isn't added to the TRS catalogue, there's no opportunity for other customers to purchase it, so we charge a small editing fee. With a new track request, the finished track can be added to The Record Stock for other creators to discover and purchase, so there's no additional creation fee. Not sure whether your idea counts as an edit or a new track? Just ask us. We're very nice.
Absolutely you can! That's one for our studio team, so get in touch with them and give them as much detail as you can about your track and project. They will ask any questions and get to work from there.
